For me fiction is probably the most important thing in the world. I don’t know what else I can say to add to that. I mean, I’ve trained in journalism, but steeped in fiction. And fiction is so much harder for me to produce.
I mean, journalism isn’t easy for me. I hate the actual process of talking to people and finding things out about them. I’m much better off when people just talk to me and I can remember what they said. Fiction though, fiction involves telling characters where to go, not just reporting the interesting things they did. It’s hard for me. But I feel like I have to be doing it. Even if nothing ever sells again. I just want some interesting tales to my name.
My published stories include:
- “Firing Squad” in Machine of Death (the Amazon.com #1 Bestselling book for 10/26/2010, now available at Amazon.com and Topatoco)
- “Texas Bound” in Broken Pencil #46
- “Vittorio and the Biotech Vagina” in 1234V #2.
I also wrote a novel called 3dWorlder that two people have read, and it hasn’t destroyed our friendship, so that’s something. I’m currently working (very slowly) on another novel called vagabondscrawl.
